Jerky movements

I am very new to Windows Movie Maker and am attempting to save my first
movie. When trying to capture the video from my Digital Video Camera, the
movie on the computer screen is all jerky where as it is playing fine on the
video camera. I am presuming that I need to configure the video settings on
WMM but everything I have tried makes it worse.

Any tips please.

That may be causing some if
not all of the problem. IEEE 1394
Firewire is better for transferring
video.
