java setup on XP

I got a new bigger hard drive and have reloaded XP home,
I've downloaded patch's and updates.I can't find where to
enable java in internet options advanced tabs.I tried
downloading java2 re1.4.2 but it won't load.It says java
isn't enabled in windows.HELP!!!Thanks...
