When I turn on my Toshiba P25-S477 with XP Pro the Toshiba screen comes on
and then a repeating message appears that says: "Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build
082)
Copywright 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Realtek RTL8139 /8130/810X PCI fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
PXW-E61: Media test failure, check cable (Me) What cable? Its a laptop!
PXW-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM"

Over and over. My machine wont boot at all. This is the second time. Last
time I disabled my networkboot in the BIOS but thats no thelping this time.
Can any of you help me with this problem?

It's attempting to boot from the network. Make sure that the hard drive is
listed in the boot order. And make sure the bios is seeing the hard drive.

It's possible the hard drive is dead, or it could be a motherboard problem.

I don't know. On the main BIOS screen it says Hard Drive: None. BUt in the
boot order it sht efirst hting on the list. I'm not sure its dead because ti
was working fine three hours before this happened.

Sounds like it can't see your hard drive. I would try removing the drive
and plugging it back in. Your hard drive could be toast also. The main
BIOS screen should list your hard drive even if the boot order shows it.

Your hard drive is gone & the laptop is trying to find a network somewhere
to boot from.

I don't know much about laptops; if it were mine, I will open it and make
sure the cables are properly plugged in. While there, you can check the HD
manufacturer and download to a floppy an utility to check the HD (well, you
gotto do it from another computer) In the meantime play around in the bios
try to make recognize your HD.

I had same problem - would not find HD. Turned out to be a faulty
CMOS battery.
