Startup routine not normal- Help!

Hello,
I have recently had a new motherboard installed in my laptop. The work was
handled by a Microsoft service warranty.
The problem was with the Ethernet connection port.
The Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5160 running XP Pro SP2 and has a 30 GB hard
drive with 512M RAM.
My concern is when I start the computer; it has added a routine that is
required to complete the start up procedure.
It has added the following:

BroadCom PXE 2.1 V2.0.4
Copyright BroadCom
Copyright Intel
All Rights reserved

Intel Base Code PXE 2.1 Build 082J
Copyright

BroadCom UNDI PXE 2.1

Client MAC address, Build #

DHCP…… (this times out after about 30-45 seconds)

PXE –E53 No Boot Name received

PXE –MOF Exiting BroadCom

Then it goes back to the standard routine.

My questions include:
Why is it now doing this procedure?
What is required to correct and remove this operation?
I appreciate your assistance and input,

It sounds like it's set to include "boot from network" early, like first or
second after CD, in the boot sequence. Go into the BIOS, check the boot
sequence. For fastest boot, set the hard disk top of the list. If you
want to be able to boot from CD, you'll need to move that to the top. But
in your case, "boot from network" should be way down or off the list.
Save, exit, reboot.

Willy,

It sounds like the Windows Splash screen was disabled. You can easily check
of this is the case.

* Right-click 'My Computer', select 'Properties'
* select 'Advanced' tab
* under the 'Startup & Recovery' heading, select 'Settings'
* under the 'System Startup' heading, select 'Edit'

When the boot.ini file opens, look for the line similar to
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect

If there is a /SOS after /fastdetect (/fastdetect /SOS) this means your
Splash screen was disabled. Simply remove the /SOS to enable the Splash
screen.

If it's just /fastdetect then there is another issue, just x-out of the
boot.ini.
