no dhcp or proxydhcp offers were recieved

i have a laptop
its about 1 or 2 yrs old
Dell inspiron 1000
window xp
40 gb

one day my compuper found an error
i just ignored it and restarted my computer
then instead of the start up
its goes something like


intel undi. pxe-2.0 (build 082)
copy right c 1997-2000 intel corporation
sis900 pxe bootROM v1.09b hook int18

pxe: no DHCP or PROXYDHCP offers were received

pxe-m0f : exiting intel pxe rom

then it goes blank and samething over again..

i really didnt do anything.
i was watching a show program from this site..
and suddenly..
the error...
and now this..

i tried to format my computer..
but when i put in the xp cd and press format
it goes like..
no harddrive was found
or something..

if this is a serious problem..
do i have to send this to the dell
company and like
get warrenty?
can i even get warrenty?

It looks like your machine is set to boot from network. Go into your bios
and disable boot from network and make sure your hard drive, then CD are the
boot order of your machine. It's hard to guide you without having the
particular bios but if you get into your bios and move around you should be
able to find it easily. Dell bioses are pretty well laid out.
