Stop It From Booting to a Network

I have XP Pro and during bootup, it pauses and displays a page saying:

INTEL UNDI, PXE-2.0 (BUILD 082)
For Realtek Fastethernet Controller
Client MAC Address [gives a long MAC address]
DHCP....

It sits on that page for 30" and then says:

PXE-E51: No DHCP offers received
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM
Boot from CD

The thing is, the CD is set as the number one boot priority, so this
is taking priority over the boot priority. I did an internet search on
intel undi, pxe 2.0 and every reference I found was in the context of
booting to a network. I can shut the whole thing off by disabling
onboard LAN and then there is no delay, but it also shuts off the
internet access, so that's not an option. Any ideas for getting rid of
that delay one way or the other? Thanks

I think it also displays a <Ctrl-A> (or something similar) as it is
initialising to get into the cards setup defaults. You can disable the PXE
from there as well.

Good luck.

Thank you very much; all is well now.
Actually it was shift-F10 and it wasn't made any easier by the fact
that that particular instruction is only on the screen for an instant.
I had to reboot twice just to see the words shift-F10 without being
able to read what they're for. Your input was crucial.
