I've lost the sound visual

I no longer have the visual sound scale on my monitor when I want to
adjust the sound to louder or softer. Before there was a display that
would show a scale .... a series of vertical lines side by side in green
that would appear in the lower right of the monitor. If I pressed the
volume increase or decrease button on the keyboard, I could see these
light up and change to louder or softer so I could have a visual idea of
how loud or soft the sound was.

WinXP Home SP2
Medion 1082 computer
Medion keyboard
Sharp LCD 17" monitor
Creative Speakers

Is this a problem for Sharp? Medion says it is unable to resolve the
problem. Any other ideas?

Not unless sharp made your sound card. It is a problem for medion. It's in the software they supplied with the computer and only you and they know that.
