Hi,

2 machines both running WinXp home.
I have a Netgear En104 hub, both machines are connected in slots 1&2 & my
DSL connection is in slot 4 coming in from a SpeedStream Modem.

Comp 1 can see & connect to comp 2 but I can't connect comp 2 to comp 1.
When I made a new folder on Comp 1 & tried & share it, I got the following
error message "The Server Service is not started" so I opened up services &
enabled "services" & everything looked fine when I enabled the new folder for
sharing but when I go to workgroup to connect I can still not see the other
computer, even after a reboot?

Any ideas please,

Btw, Comp 1 has a firewall (software). I added Comp 2 to the trusted zone
(which it found) but still no luck even after turning it off alltogether.

Just realized "File & Printer..." wasn't enabled on my network adapter. Now
it seems to be working. My bad, but wouldn't it be cool if the computer
wouldv'e spit out "hey we see you're trying to setup a network but noticed
File & printer sharing on your adapter isn't enabled, work you like to enable
it?"......

just as well its not rocket science eh
