it takes so much time when a user try to logon from XP

when the users try to logon to the windows 2000 advanced
server domain on the xp clients, it takes so much time to
authenticate the user logon attempt. when the same user
try to logon from a 2000pro to the domain, everthing is
normally.
all the hubs and cable connections checked.
what can be the reason of this long authenticaiton
problem.
