Issue with Access MDW file

Hi,

I have an Access 2000 database which was recently in opened in Access
2002 and modified the user level security. Now when I try to open the
mdb file via a shortcut pointing to the mdb and mdw file, it says
installing Components and Opens Access 2002 instead of 2000. This box
has Access 2000. This is weird or I'm missing something. How I do make
sure that it actually opens Access 2000 and not 2002? And is this
happening because we recently modified the user-level security in 2002.
Please help.

It happens because Office 2000 and Office 2002 fight
over who will have responsibility for .MDB files.

Open Access 2000. Open a database. Close Access 2000.

This will reset the MDB registration to point to Access
2000.

Then change your shortcut to point directly to Access 2000.

A short cut that points "to the mdb and mdw file" won't
work correctly unless it explicitly points to MSACCESS.EXE.

Thanks a lot, David. That helped. This computer had both 2000 and 2002
installed and the shortcut that I used was actually pointing to 2002.
