Accessing the mdw via Citrix

We have two citrix servers (2 servers for load balancing) in our office and
another server where all the files, etc are stored. I have my databases
stored on this file server and users access them via a citrix session. The
mdw file is also on this file server. When I access the databases directly to
the file server I'm able to update users and passwords without any problem.
But when I access the databases via a citrix session it gives me an error
that says I only have read-only access. I checked the folder where the mdw
file is kept and it has full permissions on it. Why can I modify users and
passwords directly from the file server and not have this ability when
accessing it through a citrix session?

Make sure that all Citrix users access their own copy of the front-end and
that none of them share the front-end in any way. Citrix is looking at the
file and thinking that only one person can edit it at a time. If each user
has a folder with permissible apps in it, and has a copy of a split database
(front-end) in that folder, you should not have any problems assuming that
they have everything but Full Control permissions on that folder.

When you say citrix is looking at the file and thinking that only one person
can edit it as a time, are you talking about the mdw file or the database
itself?

Everyone has their own copy of the front-end in their own folder but it still
won't let me update/add new users or have users change their password to the
mdw file. Everything else works fine. They are able to update tables in the
database, etc.

Yep, that was the problem. The folder where the MDW file is kept on had read
only access. All is working fine now. Thanks for your help Arvin!
