Is there a way to temporarily clear all icons off the desktop screen ?

Somebody asked me this. I want to switch all the icons of the desktop
off so I can use an application like Photoshop that has floating
toolbars then put my desktop back to normal.

I'm not talking about "minimize all".

Is this possible ?
 
Right click on the Desktop, select Active Desktop and disable "Show Desktop
Icons".
