Off centre desktop

My desktop has moved about 3 cms to the left. All left side desktop icons are
invisible, as is the Start button; I have a strip of black on the right side
that I can't enter or move. How can I shift my windows back to cover the
whole screen?

Use the buttons on the monitor to adjust the image.
