Windows XP upgrade problem

After upgrading to Windows XP from Windows ME, my desktop has shifted to the
right and down. I am using a 21 inch monitor. I now have 4 1/2 of black
space on the left of the desktop and 1/2 inch at the top. The start menu is
off the screen to the right making the computer unusable. The Windows LOGO
screen is properly centered and fills the screen properly.

What happens when you install the most recent WinXP-specific video
drivers, as provided by your video adapter's manufacturer's web site?

properly.

Have you tried using the monitors setting buttons to move it to the
correct position?
