IP Address

Recently I have configured my wife's home computer for
work so she can access the internet. Somewhere along the
line her server at work went down. Once up and running she
now can't access the internet. They have changed from DHCP
to Static IP. So once I have entered the info that they
have given my wife (IP address and what not) in the TCP/IP
properties but she still can't access the internet. When
checking the status on the connection, does that tell you
that it is connected? Is there something that I'm doing
wrong? or is there a step that I need to do?

any help is welcome

thanks

We need more information, as you seem to have more than one problem at hand.

1st, let's fix the Internet connection issue... How is this computer
supposed to be set up to connect to the Internet? Analog dialup through an
ISP? DSL? Cable? Whatever the solution, set things up according to what
the ISP wants...

2nd, connecting to the company server. Assuming that the company is not the
ISP, then you'll have to set up a VPN connection of some sort. That setup
may have a static IP, but it would be configured seperately from the
Internet connection setup (which may be DHCP. You can do both through means
of VPN encapsulation). But, you can only do this once part 1 of this
problem is solved correctly.

Im sorry that i was not clear on this...
i configured the computer at home...I have DSL at
home...once finished, I brought her computer to work and
it worked fine up until their server went down. at that
point they switched from DCHP to static ip.(I believe
they have business dsl)...and never
worked since. I can tell that it has connection from the
status info by right clicking on the network icon...but
cant seem to get access to the internet.
