Invisible files

JSPipe

I have a partion containing files invisible to explorer.

System shows

Total = 996MB
Free = 357MB
Used = 638MB

Explorer shows

251MB (including recycler and system volume information, 170 bytes total).

So there are about 387MB of files not visible to explorer.

The paging file is on another partion and changing its size has no effect on
this problem.

How can i identify these files?

Help needed.

I had already done that.
The only files that show up when i "show hidden files and unhide operating
system files"
are the Recycler and System volume information which total 170bytes.

run chkdsk on that partition and see if there might be file system errors...
if so ...back up your data and run chkdsk /f to repair any errors

I had run disk cleanup, volume check and defragger.

I've just deleted the "visibles" and run defragger again.
The report shows:-
Volume size = 996MB
Used = 387MB
Free = 609MB

Total files = 2,813

No page file

Total folders = 14
Fragmented folders = 1

MFT
Size = 5MB
Record count = 2,842
Fragments = 3
_________

There are 14 "visible" folders in this partion - coincidence?
These 14 folders contain 75 nested folders and 481 files.

When i fitted this HDD i setup a user account which i later
deleted.
Is it possible folders/files used under this user account
are not visible under the administrator account?
