i am connected to a home network through a router downstairs, this is a guest
pc on the network, however before when i installed my pc to the network is
was slow then i had to get my proxy settings for my pc so i wasnt connecting
through the main computer downstairs. i have just installed windows from
fresh but i have no proxy settings in there. i need the settings that should
go in the lan settings option.

i have selected the automatically detect settings box, and there is one more
box that i cannot configure (use a proxy server for your lan.
how do i find my proxy server settings for lan????

any help appreciated :)

thanks
let me know if u need more info

You don't need a proxy. Plug the internet connection into WAN port of router
then pc's into LAN ports.

You don't need to do anything out of the ordinary. Plug the internet
connection into your routers WAN port (follow your ISP's instructions). Plug
your pc's into the LAN ports and set them to DHCP assigned settings.
