Internet help please

Hi, A friend of mine has recently downloaded the latest windows updates
automatically. Since then every time they try to connect to the internet,
they get the "unable to connect..." message. Usually it doesn't even
dial...just an error message. Any ideas?

call your internet provider it happened to me and they took me through restarting internet explorer

.Go to add/remove and uninstall the updates.

If all is well after this install the updates one at a
time.(with several days in between)until you find out
which one it is most likely it is 832894 security update
Shut off auto update and just go there once a month for
updates.

my son had the same problem yesterday.got on net as soon as he downloaded good old window updates it kicked him out and wont let us connect.cant do system restore as it wont restore.any ideas how to restore back when restore wont work.cheers
