Internet difficulties

I am having problems with my internet. My MSN Messenger and Internet
Explorer are not working but by Skype still is. I am unable to ping website
or ping their IP addresses. My wireless internet was running fine until
recently. On internet explorer it tires to connect but does not manage to
(where the tab button is located). On the bottom where the magnification
button is (on IE7) there is no indication if the website was found and I can
leave this on just the way it is but still nothing changes. When I went to
Event Viewer I found this recent information:
• Type: Warning, Source: Dhcp, Description: Your computer has automatically
configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address
624E286F1092. The IP address being used is 169.254.172.204.
• Type: Error, Source: Windows Update Agent, Description: Unable to Connect:
Windows is unable to connect to the automatic updates service and therefore
cannot download and install updates according to the set schedule. Windows
will continue to try to establish a connection.
• Type: Information, Source: Tcpip, Description: The system detected that
network adapter RT73...Wireless LAN Card - Packet Scheduler Miniport was
connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network
adapter.
• Type: Error, Source: DCOM, Description: The server
{F81CD990-910B-4BBF-9CB3-6A77F3D697B3} did not register with DCOM within the
required timeout.
• Type: Warning, Source: Tcpip, Description: TCP/IP has reached the security
limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts.
What should I do?

Go to Start/Run, and type:

REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL

Then open IE, Tools menu, Options, Program Tab, and click the "Reset Web
Settings" button. OK, Restart windows.
