Windows XP IP Conflict Error

I'm having a problem with my D-Link Dl-524 Wireless router.
When I set up the router and connect to it directly (hardwired),
everything works fine. When I try to use the wireless connectivity
Windows pops up the error "There is an IP confilict with another system
on the network.".

There are no other computers on the network. I guess that means that
the wireless adapter is conflicting with the ethernet adapter. I just
don't know how to resolve the conflict.

It might be that your neighbour is using your connection!! Is your
wireless encrypted? If not then you should encrypt it and password
protect it so that no one can sit outside your house and use your
connection to send spam messages.

I suggest reset your router by inserting the paperclip in the small hole
in the router and keeping it there for about 20 seconds or so. Then use
your wire connection and set the encryption but keeping it still to use
DHCP.

I used to have a similar problem like this when I used to hard wire into our
home router and use it in wireless mode once disconnected. It was caused by
the router allocated the same IP to the wireless connection before the wired
connection had its IP unallocated. Don't know if this is the same in your
situation though. Have you tried disabling the appropriate connection when
switching between the two or do you operate both at the same time?
