Generic host process for win32 services

A

aol user

ever since aOL (UK) have transfered me to AOL9VR I have got this message it
states that it has got a problem and needs to close. it seems to be related
to the dialnb that AOL9VR uses to connect to the internet. When I was using
V8 which used an access number to connect to the internet I did not get this
message. It shuts down my internet connection but does not disconnect AOL I
have to shut down my computer to do this. I am on dial up. I wrote doown the
2 error messages and they seem to be in the Local folder called temp/WER3B
the first file ends svchost.exe.mdmp and the 2nd file ends appcompat.txt. I
have downloaded update KP894391 but I am still getting the 32 error message
and it is still shutting down my internet connection.

What else can I do can someone please help me in the U.K

I too have this problem in the UK with AOL Dial BB. The problem came with the
switch by AOL to Dial Broadband (release 9) from normal dial up. So far
nothing from AOL has helped. HOWEVER if you manage to break the BB connection
(watch the icon on the toolbar) BEFORE windows closes the offending svchost
process, then you can close AOL and retart AOL WITHOUT a PC reboot. It will
then REMAIN GOOD until your next power on. Haven't worked out why yet. To
beat the close down you must:-
1. close all your AOL child windows (I use the big X) and
2. quickly log 0ff - within 30 secs at most.

You can then close the main AOL window, then the WIN32 warning window, then
restart AOL for a clean run.

Please let me know if you have made ANY PROGRESS since your post......
