Assuming you use Windows XP Pro (maybe works on HE), open display
properties, select Desktop tab, and click the Customize Desktop...
button. At the top you can choose which icons to see on the desktop. If
this doesn't work, you might try another way: Visit the Advanced tab of
the Internet Properies/Options and ensure the Show On Desktop checkbox
is checked. This works on older Windows versions. Good luck.
