Internet Explorer - XP

I can not use the search key in any program - after
downloading all the microsoft updates I have lost the
ability to search. I can put an address in and get the
page - but I can not search.

Any advice - ??
All security levels are at medium. DSL is running fine.

You don't explain exactly what you mean by you cannot search.. Do you mean
you can't bring up Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves and other search engines?

If that is the case, there is a 'stealth' program that is referred to as a
'Parasite'
that can ride in on a program like Kazaa, Limewire or other free programs
that will stop you from being able to access all the search engines..

and Parasite Test to see if you do have a parasite.. Another factor that is
causing similar
problems are Browser Helper Objects (BHO) and the place to check if you have
this on
your system is C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ETC and view your host file.. It
may
contain references to all the search engines.. If it does, this is the
problem..
