Hi,

I have the latest version of internet explorer installed (IE6 sp1) with all
the hot fixes. When i get a popup window, or if i decide to open link in a
new window. The window will apear, but the page will never load unless I
press Esc, then F5 to refresh.

I have tryed re-installing IE6 and it did not fix the problem.

Anyone know how to fix this ?

Guy.

Hmm, just a wild guess here. I noticed mshtml.dll is a dependency of IE. So,
I unregistered it (Start, Run, regsvr32 /u mshtml.dll), got an error
(because it's in use). Then, I fired up IE and things seem to be okay.
However, if I tried to open links in a new window, I had the symptoms you
describe.

The solution? Re-register mshtml.dll: Start, Run, regsvr32 mshtml.dll

Hope that helps,

Hi Guy,

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Hyperlinks not opening:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.

Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

The "Open in a New Window" Command May Not Work. Go to Start/Run and type
each of these in:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Add Open New Browser Window to IE Toolbar (Line 274)

If none of this helps, run the patches listed here under Why does IE/OE
crash? http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm

If you prefer not to, at least the mshtml.ddl version 1173
