happens at all. The rest of the system is fine. It's just
internet explorer that is stalled.
What is causing this?

Is IE just opening up a blank page or is just waiting to load and it never does? Maybe you have a site hijacker on your PC. Try using a different browser such as netscape or firefox. If your able to get on then you need to do some searching in your pc .

The next thing I would try is going to msconfig and stop everything from starting up. and then try using IE again. or try restoring IE to its default settings.

I agree with Rich...
Try running a adware/spyware scanning program and see if it finds any bad files..then make sure you get them all off your computer! And install a blocker, plus turn up the levels on your internet security/privacy filters.

If that doesn't help, maybe you are missing some files for the Internet Explorer browser..then I would uninstall and then reinstall (hopefully you have a current version on disk) and have you installed the latest updates from Microsoft.com? (Windows update/Office update/Internet Explorer updates?)

Hope you get the problem resolved.
