Internet explorer encountered a problem

Help Every time i try to go on Internet Explorer , it starts , then up pops up the message: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. details are : add name :iexplore.exe app ver: 6.0.2800.1106 mod name: urlmon.dl
mod ver: 6.0.2800.1400 offset 00006b8

if click on "close" it shuts internet explorer off. If I ignore the message and just let it sit on the desktop I can do regular interenet functions very puzzling and confusing. Thanks for any help or solution you can give.

Hi Rick,


Copy and paste the following line to the Start > Run prompt, it will
try to reinstall IE and the routine will need the XP CD.
Alternatively, try to point it to the dllcache folder and the
ServicePackFiles\i386 folder.

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %systemroot%\inf\ie.inf
