Internet Explorer 6.0

Support :

When using IE 6 I have always been able to simply enter a
name in the address bar such as amazon and hit Ctrl-Enter
and Ie would automatically place www. before the name and
place .com after the name and take me to the site.
According to the Help contents in IE6 this is supposed to
occur.

However recently when I enter a name such as amazon and
hit Ctrl-Enter I am taken to a MSN search result page
showing many listings and paid listings that I have to
sort through.

Please tell me how I can restore my browser to to way it
previously functioned and not be forced to a MSN search
result page.

If Microsoft has redesigned their system in order to
force users to a MSN search result page please let me
know so that I can locate and install another browser.

Thank you for your help. John Fort

IE still does this(as well as other browsers). Are you sure your ctrl key is
working correctly? Try both of them.
If you don't hold the ctrl key and just hit enter then it does a search with
your default search engine. This makes me think your ctrl key isn't working
correctly.

Wow, I just learned something new. I didn't know you
could do that. I will probably stick to "amazon.com" in
though, but neat trick...
