internet cutoffs

my modem cuts me off after About 10 mins please help me
with this frustrating problem.
 
This sometimes happens when a program tries to establish a dial up
connection without realizing that one already exists.

Check on your IE and any other programs you may have that could possibly
auto dial that they all have a setting to the effect "dial only if one does
not already exists"
 
Conversley check things like outlook (if you use it) does not have a setting
that says "disconnect when finished"
