internet connection

Im runnig win xp home with a wired network using a linksys
router. When I try to get on the net it times out.It will
do this two times and on the 3rd time it connects.It does
this on computer startup and after I get off the net.My
monitor is the only thing that shuts down after 15
minutes.Does anyone have some ideas?

Immediately after startup:
From a command window:
1) Ping www.yahoo.com.
2) Ping 66.94.230.33.
Report exact text of error messages.
From your browser:
3) Browse www.yahoo.com.
4) Browse 66.94.230.33.
Report exact text of error messages.
