Internet Connection Sharing on WinXP

T

tonj

I've got a WinXP Pro PC with a dial up connection to the internet. This
connection is set as shared and my other 2 PC's also use this connection to
surf the net on my home LAN when I'm online. What puzzles me is that the
other 2 PC's will only get pages when their network TCP/IP setting is set to
'Obtain IP addres automatically'. If I try to set an IP address in either of
the other two PC's they won't surf the net. I would like to give the other
two PC's their own fixed IP address, and still have them surf.
Do I have to alter settings on the main PC to do this? Thanks for any help.

ICS enables a DHCP mimi services on the host. The host will assign the
clients IP addresses in the 192.168.0.x range.
