I am working on a netwok for a small local business. They
have 3 computers running Windows XP and 2 computers
running Windows 98. The network is established thru a
Linksys hub. On all computers through Network
Neighborohood you can access shared files and every thing
is fine. However I can not establish internet connection
sharing. The host computer is running Windows XP and the
other machines running XP can see the shared connection in
the network connection window but they cannot share the
connection.
When you open the Internet Explorer it will not share the
connection. Because of the two different operating
systems the IP addresses have been set. The internet host
computers IP address is 192.168.0.1 aith a subnet mask of
255.255.255.0. All other computers IP addresses are set
manually to 192.168.0.x with submask of 255.255.255.0
where x is acending (2,3,4, etc.).
Can anyone lend any suggestion as to why I can not share
the internet connection.
Please reply to (e-mail address removed). Thanks
