internet access sensitive to startup order

E

Everett Joline

I have a Win98se computer plugged into a hub with internet connection via a
Win2K computer. The configuration works fine, however, if the Win98 computer
is started after the Win2K computer is already operating, about half of the
time it is necessary to restart the Win2k machine to enable internet access
for the Win98 machine.

Is there some way I can avoid this pesky restart?

Thanks,
E-Jo

The problem sounds like Microsoft Client is not
authenticanting on every start. This is a problem I
experianced on our NT4.0 network. There is a
Knowledgebase article on a registry setting that will
correct this. I don't have the number to give you but if
you query logon, missing logon, and Microsoft Client you
should find it.
