File & printer sharing problem on home network

E

Everett Joline

I just purchased a Linksys BEFSR41 yesterday and have 4 computers plugged
in:
1. WinXP
2. WinXP laptop
3. Win2K
4. Win98

Each can access the internet OK.

The WinXP can see the files on each of the other computers.
The laptop, Win98, and Win2K can access all other computers except the
WinXP.
However, the laptop and Win05 must enter a user-name/pw to access the Win2K,
while the Win98 does not need one.

My question is:
What must be changed in order for the other computers to access the WinXP?

Thanks for any help,
E-Jo

Thanks very much Robert for putting me on to that site. There certainly is a lot of applicable material there!

I think I have discovered the problem, but I don't know how to fix it.
When I display Windows IP Configuration of the XPSP2 computer (that no one can access) it says:
IP Routing Enabled.... No
which I believe is not correct, right?

So how do I resolve this problem?

Thanks again,
E-Jo
