Intel 2 minutes on

Hallo NG!
WindowsXP/HE SP2, OfficeXP/Pro SP3, VB5E, CPU P4/2.8G, 1GB Ram
On booting my computer the intel logo shows for 2 minutes. Then the
normal boot sequence with a short black screen and WiXp logo starts.
What may cause such a delay?

Try starting without any USB peripherals installed. Unplug everything but your keyboard, mouse and
monitor.

If that fixes the slow startup, then try again with peripherals installed one at a time until you
find the problem.
