File right click context menue

Hallo NG!
WindowsXP/HE SP3, OfficeXP/Pro SP3
How can I find out the command that is executed when I select i.e.
"Compress to <name>.zip" and/or others in the file context menue?

Have a look here. You will find an explanation of how to create a new
context menu item, and therefore where in the registry the corresponding

Thanks, but that doesn't help. With the example "Compress to *.zip"
entry from context menue no specific extension is available. In
the registry under HKCR/Directory/shell 'none' is already set. Under
HKCR/Directory/shell/DragDropHandlers/PowerArchiver/ a long
hex-number is listed.
So I think that powerarchiver (powerarc.exe) is used in this
case but the explicit command is still unknown.

You're ninety percent there. All that's left is to scan the registry for
that long hex number, e.g. BD472F60-27FA-11cf-B8B4-444553540000. It will
point to the executable that gets invoked.
