Installing Windows XP

I purchased Windows XP Full Version. I am running Windows
98. I want to install Windows XP. I have th following
questions:

(1) Can I do a quick install with the full version since I
have Win 98?
(2) Currently, my internet Explorer does not work, if I do
a quick install will this correct my IE problem? Or
should I do a full install?

Not sure what you mean my "quick install."

You could install 3 different ways, either upgrade your current
installation, format the drive and install clean, or install a dual boot, so
both OSs are operational.

There is no quick install of XP. There is upgrade or full.

If IE is not working, I would do a full install. This will clear out the
entire hard drive and place a fresh install of XP. XP upgrades with a
problematic Windows 98 could bring the old problems into XP.

Do an upgrade install in the first instance: you can do it with a full
version, provided you bought a retail one, not one of the OEM ones 'for
supply only with a new computer - those will only install clean. You do
it by running the CD from the existing system, taking Install and
continuing with the default to Upgrade.

That in effect replaces the entire system so it ought to fix things like
problems with IE.

First make sure you have adequate hardware - at least a 350MHz CPU, and
more than the recommended 128MB of RAM. And Read Gary Woodruff's
