HI, I'm installing windows Xp SP1 on a computer Pentium
MMX 266 with 392 ram memory and a Quantum HD of 8 Gb...
During the process while the windows XP setup is loading
the files for hardware abstraction layer, I receive a
error "file \i386\hal.dll coulf not be loaded. error
43520" and forces me to quit the setup and restart the
machine. I've alreaady checked the hard disk through the
fdisk utility of the windows 98' and made a new partition
after deleting the existing one.

Thanks for any help

Well, Itried before installing a Windows 98 Version but
I was having a problem, the computer was asking for the
cd while the cd was in running the setup. I had changed
the Bios configuration several times... forcing it to
read the cdrom first, switching many others choices...
None of them worked, but, as I said before the fdisk
command didn't show any error on the Hard Disk...
