Installing a Printer

Everytime Ii try to install my Lexmark X75 all in one
printer to my friends PC, which is running Windows XP
home edition. It won't detect the printer says its not
connected after rechecking and rechecking connections
same message still appears. I have an istallation disk
it won't install and this particular printer is not on
the list. Can you help?

I had the same problem and after re-reading the instructions found that I should not use the wizard when installing the Lexmark. Click cancel on it then let the lexmark instructions come up and follow them. Might try it

after u load the software?? the software is telling u to connect your printer????(its not the hardware wizard)????? same problem here. Do you get the sound(that xp makes)that you did indeed connect the cable?????? check device manager to see if anything is connected. See if any yellow ? marks and click on them(are they unknown devices?)
