I was using ZA was having some issues so decided to test several other
Firewalls. I uninstalled ZA using the ZA uninstall then installed Agnitum's
Outpost. It worked fine. I then uninstalled Outpost using it's uninstall
and installed Sygate's Personal Firewall Pro. It appeared to work just fine
immediately after installation. However, after the first reboot, the Sygate
systray icon disappeared, clicking the Sygate icon produced the hourglass for
a few seconds, but never started Sygate. In addition, I have no network
connectivity at all. When I click on the network icon in systray, it shows
no traffic in or out and no IP address (even though the IP is hard coded).
When I try to run IPCONFIG, the error:
"Windows IP Configuration
An internal error occurred: The request is not supported.
Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.
Additional information: Unable to query host name."
This is my desktop and main system. I really hope someone out there can
help! I've tried resetting TCPIP (netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt) and
resetting Winsock (netsh Winsock reset) to no avail.
Thanks in advance!
