Installation of Recovery Console causes "New Hardware Discovered" message

I have XP Pro SP2 installed and have just attempted to install
Recovery Console from the slipstreamed XP Pro-SP2 Installation CD
following the instructions detailed in MS KB 895594 article.

This seemed to work OK except that , re-booting after this
installation I got a message stating that "New Hardware had been
found"

When I follwed the instructions to start the New Hardware Wizard
eventually this ended by failing to find a driver for my Ethernet
Controller , something which had been working OK before I started this
process .

Fortunately , before proceeding with the Recovery Console
installation, I had used an App - ASHAMPOO - which takes an image of
my hard drive and thus makes it easy to remove all the installed R.C.
files , thus returning the PC to the " status quo ante "

This has got me back to having the Ethernet Controller again working
OK but withoiut the installation of the Recovery Console.

My question is , therefore , why did the installationof of the
Recovery Console cause this problem with my Ethernet Card ?

My second question is :- How do I install the Recovery Console without
this error ?

Sorry I don't know what caused your problem or why. You might want to look
for an updated driver for the NIC on the NIC manufacturer's website if it's
a retail device or the computer OEM's website if it came with the computer.

As a work around the recovery console can be run from the XP CD by booting
from it, it doesn't have to be installed.

Thank you . I'll try searching for an updated driver.

I realise that the R.C. can be run from the XP CD , I was merely
curious to see whether I could instal it onto the h/d.
