recovery console

hello im running xp home sp2 &trying to install recovery console the problem
is i dident get an xp cd could i use a friends xp pro cd to to execute
D:\I386\WINNT32.EXE /cmdcons, im xphome & a friends cd is xp pro. thanks

If you can burn an ISO image to a CD, you can obtain a Recovery Console ISO from
various sources on the Internet. As an example, here's one link I found.

For others, search using Google for "Recovery Console ISO", w/o the quotes.

no mate hence the post, installed recov console on start up through a friend
xppro cd all sorted now. thanks

you're welcome.

incidentally, although you
have the recovery console
listed in the boot menu,
there are certain disk errors
that will prevent you from
accessing the boot menu
and will need the cd to
log into recovery console
in those cases.
