Installation hangs

Hi All,

I am trying to reinstall windows XP Pro. I have changed my bios to boot off
my cdrom.
When i get the prompt to press a key to boot off the CD Drive, I do so.

The blue screen appears as the installation begins and the message 'Setup is
loading files' appears. It goes through this fine but when it gets to the
'Setup is starting windows' Stage it just hangs!!!

Does anyone know of a way around this? I really cant figure out what is
going on. I have been stuck for ages!

Thx for your time

Hi,

I have already tried installing the driver for my raid card during the setup
by specifying the driver on the floppy provided by the manufacturer.
The setup still seems to hang!!

Could u recommend anything else?

Yes, try moving your drive ribbon cable to one of the IDE connectors on
the Motherboard. Set the drive as Master.
Install XP and after it's up and running go to Device Manager and
install the Raid Drivers. I have a High Point Raid
Controller on my board and that is the only way I can get XP to
install. After the drivers are loaded then move the
cable back to a Raid Channel. F6 never worked for me.
