what does the blue screen say exactly?

is there a stop number?

Try first unplugging all USB devices and even removing extra PCI cards that
you may not need ...

I could also say that this may be a problem due to ram sticks that do not
match perfectly...

But I would suggest you do a CLEAN install of vista and not an upgrade.. you
will have to format of course
and that means you will lose the applications and data you have now on your
disk.

i hope you made a backup before you started.. did you?

give us more info..
