Hi,
I recently got a virus on my computer and I got told the
only way to get rid of it was to re-install windows xp.
Without un-installing anything or formating my hardrive,
I put my windows xp home edition disk in to re-install
it. Now, when it gets to the main installation, it
installs till it has 34mins remaining and then freezes
everytime. The only way I know to cancel is by taking the
cd out, but it cancels the installation and then restarts
my computer, and goes straight back into the installation.

If anybody can tell me how to get back into my computer
without reformating the hard drive,I would apreciate it.
Thankyou.

You should have removed the Virus first. You are trying to reinstall and
leaving the virus on. You could try a repair install, (boot from xp cd) to
get your system up and running again and then get the virus off. But you are
probably screwed now and have to reformat and reinstall.
