Inserting a 'counter' on the web using Front Page, will it displa.

I have checked for neccesary updates for Components in 'Front Page 2002' and
found none. When I insert a "COUNTER" component,and view it in a browser it
isn't visible for the viewer to see. "[counter]" is what is displayed.The
Marquee and everything else works without being published and is OK! So it
must not work until it is Published, Right or Wrong?
 
correct, will only work when Published on a host with FP extensions.

Right, it will not work until published.
