hit counters not working

In FrontPage 2003 I have inserted a hit counter and reset the counter to
10000, after publishing the counter displays at 00001. I have tried deleting
and reinstalling front page server extensions. I have deleted the hit
counter and recreated it. I added a marquee and this worked so I know web
components are working. Why is my hit counter starting at 00001 versus the
10000 I want it to start with? thx lltgdp

Open your live site in FrontPage and reset the count on the live page.
Hit counter "counts" do not publish unless the file has had the "do not publish" flag removed.

However, you want to leave it set to "Do not publish" or it will reset your count every time you
publish.

I can't get my counter to reset. I tried going to the live webpage, file,
edit with front page, checking the box, and typing in the new number. It
still doesn't publish the new number. What do I need to do?
