Ink refills?

A

I purchased some ink refills for my Lexmark printer 2 weeks ago, and
refilled my color cartridge just to find out the red color wouldn't print.
As the cartridge hadn't been used in weeks, I thought the ink was dry so I
put a damp cloth on the print heads and sweeped it gently and after a few
times, the red started to print again. The thing is after that, the yellow
color went away for good after printing correctly for a few days and I'm not
able to "bring it back" even if it's thoroughly refilled. Could it be
possible that some ink was dry inside, but not necessarily the ink at the
tip of the cartridge? Is it possible that something (dry ink) was clogged
on the inside and that I could have still been able to print for a while? I
appreciate any help, thanks!

You Should allways replace with the Lexmark refills as this should not
happen, I have used 3rd party refills only to get dried out inks and only
working for a short time there crap...

I tried to refill Z23 and Z33 and never had any luck. Once red wouldn't
print after a day or two, second time blue didn't. Maybe you have wrong ink
type.

I refilled a Z50 very successfully for a couple of years, then
switched to a Z53 and started getting the problems you guys describe.
Color was particularly troublesome. Same ink that I always used, so
it's hard to explain, other than a subtle change in the cartridge.
Black, by the way, was working fine to the end.

Do yourself a favor and get a Canon. I have. It will be a cold day in
Hell before I go back to Lexmark. If you can't refill the miserable
thing the cost of ink will put you in the poorhouse.

Don't be surprised...i did just so. I owe i550 for about 6 months now. Great
printer, easy to refill.
I remember for my Z33 i tried to buy second hand carts once at local store
which deals specially with refilling and a guy told me that he doesn't have
refilled cart for Z33, because it jsut won't work. And we're talking about a
guy who sells refilled carts for decades now.
Just for the record: i bought two lexmarks: Z23 and Z33 and because whole
printer was same price as one (1!!!) single replacement cartridge. So, when
i ran out of ink and ruined it with unsuccesfull refilling, i bought a
second printer, while ater that i was tired of buying printers as
bread...and got myself a Canon.

Canon is the Best way to go and the Inks last for ages so there's no need to
buy secondhand carts anymore..
