Well, I don't know how much you pay for yours (at Costco) to compare the
financial saving, but I do refill my own so it costs me probably around 5-25
cents/cartrige (I don't count but paying around $15-20 for 6 100ml bottles)
For Good Quality Photo, if we go back to 10-20+ years ago when photolab
was very expensive then printing using inkjet may same ton of money. But in
the past several years (5-8 yrs or so) photolab is lot cheaper and better
than inkjet.
So this is what I may suggest
1. To save $$$$$ on Inkjet Cartridge you may shop around for the REFILLABLE
CARTRIDGES. And don't pay $50-150 for (6) cartridges but shop around for
around $15-20.
Same with INK, some company sells for around $15-20 for (6) 100ml bottles,
some sells for $50-100+ for the same size
2. To SAVE $$$$ and to keep the PHOTO for decades, you may want to print at
photolab instead of Inkjet. Photolab usually charge around 10-25 cents per
4x6" (cheaper online), 20x30" could be around $20-100 depending on where and
when you want your printed.
The price has been changing so quick these days. Years ago, it would cost
$100 (or more) for a 8x10", now it costs around $1.20-1.50
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I do a lot of (amateur) photography,
including many shots of people. Skin color and clothing color are
important to me. With the original H-P inks I get beautiful colors on
the paper(s) that I use. I do my own sharpening, editing, simple
retouching, cropping, etc., and then do my own prints. The H-P inks are
supposed to last a long time, per testing labs, albeit I keep my SD
cards as part of a triple backup.
Also, my H-P "O2" cartridges have ink heads built-in, and I do not know
if they will clog up if used time and again.
That is why I was looking for specific advice about Costco refills.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Mort
