Help with HP ink cartridge

S

SS

HP 1317 all-in-one printer

My colour cartridge (the yellow ink only) has been refilled twice ( I refill
my own)
When I refill it just takes around a quarter of what I would consider a full
fill.
after a short period maybe 30 pages it starts to print badly again with the
top half of the page ok and then the colour (yellow) fades.
I refill (again will only take a quarter) and printing is ok.

I have gone through the `clean print heads` procedure many times.

On a previous cartridge I had the same problem and again only with the
yellow.
the other colours & black work ok and always take the full amount of ink.

Any thoughts? I just cant think of anything to check.

Sounds as if there is an air bubble trapped in the ink reservoir. I'd
have a look at your refill procedures and see if there are any
alternative methods to try. Possibly the internals are giving a same
volume but different shape ink reservoir for the yellow. It might be
informative to dissect an old cartridge to see what might be going on if
you have a really failed unit
