information on where to go

hi all
ive recently bought a new dvd burner LG GSA 4120B after installing i cann't
reboot without going into safe mode and disable the new drive that i have put
in anyway why ive put this here is im after info where i can go to fix this
problem or another news group i have already tryed calling and writeing to LG
and they just said it was xp service pack 2 that was corupting the drive i
dont actually belive this but that is what they said so please help on
putting me in the right direction.

Try opening system,device mgr.,scroll to the device,expand the
tree,properties,
see what errors or codes are present for it.You can also,select
ununstall,then
close out and shut-off computer,dont restart,then on next reboot,xp will
reinstall
the device auto.

One other item,are the jumper pins on the device set properly (slave,master),
to the rest on the IDE chain..
